Marvel Rivals Season 2 Adjusts Team Ups, New Synergies Revealed

- New Marvel Rivals synergies are being added to the game.
- A number of prior team-up synergies are being removed.
- Scarlet Witch can partner with Dr. Strange, while Captain America synergizes with Winter Soldier.
Marvel Rivals is celebrating the beginning of Season 2 on April 11. Included in Season 2 thus far are new character Emma Frost, a new map, and new team-up abilities. Here is a breakdown of the new abilities, as according to the official developer’s vlog released on April 3.
Removed teamups:
- Magneto/Scarlett Witch
Adjusted team-ups:
- Ammo Overload no longer includes Winter Soldier
- Dimensional Shortcut no longer includes Psylocke
- Chilling Charisma no longer includes Namor
- Gamma Charge now includes Namor, no longer includes Dr Strange
New team-ups joining the game:
- Mental Projection: Emma Frost, Magneto, Psylocke
- Stars Aligned: Captain America, Winter Soldier
- Arcane Order: Dr Strange, Scarlet Witch
Scarlett Witch has been at the bottom of tier lists since release. The character lacks long ranged damage output, and her ultimate cast time and shoutout makes her very predictable. To help the witch out, Netease added ‘Arcane Order,’ which essentially allows Scarlet Witch to use Dr. Strange’s Arcane energy combined with her own chaos energy.
Mental Projection, a new team-up that uses Emma Frost, Magneto, and Psylocke, allows both Magneto and Psylocke to create illusions by using the White Queen’s psionic abilities. Emma Frost must be on the team for this power-up.
The last new team-up being added is ‘Stars Aligned,’ which requires both Captain America and Winter Soldier. During this team-up, Bucky can jump towards allies while sending out a shockwave.
Marvel Rivals currently has over 40 million registered players, and has taken over the hero shooter genre. It brought in more than $200 million in revenue in a little over two months, and has a growing esports scene.
