AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card has officially achieved a 10X increase in sales compared to previous Radeon generation, according to the company’s CEO, Dr. Lisa Su.
In a recent interview with ASUS China Manager Tony Yu, Dr. Su stated that Radeon RX 9070 XT had a record-breaking launch, highlighting that it quickly became AMD’s top-selling GPU during its debut week.
The Radeon RX 9070 XT claimed the top position at numerous retailers worldwide at the beginning of March 2025, with some retailers reporting sales exceeding 5,000 units on launch day alone.
According to Dr. Su, AMD is already responding to the intense demand by ramping up production, “We are going to no problem, we are very excited about it, and we are increasing the manufacturing so we can have more gamers to have access.”
It is worth noting that the previous generation of GPU AMD Radeon RX 7000 series, based on the RDNA 3 architecture, experienced underwhelming sales performance. In Q1 2024, AMD’s gaming revenue declined by 48% year-over-year, attributed to decreased demand for Radeon discrete graphics cards and reduced semi-custom revenue. On top of that, reports indicate that the RX 7000 series was AMD’s least competitive in over 20 years regarding market share, while specific total sales figures for the RX 7000 series have not been publicly disclosed.
