New monsters, balance changes, and game-enhancing features are coming in the fifth season of Monster Hunter Now, The Blossoming Blade.
In the new season, two new beasts, Glavenus and Arzuros, are making their debut in Monster Hunter Now. To encounter them, players must complete Season 5’s Urgent Quests, unlocking their presence in the field. Glavenus will appear less frequently but can be found more often in Hunt-a-thons.
Season 5 is also bringing new features to the combat system with new skills and buffs, including:
- Shared Sword and Raw Power skills offer new strategic options for players looking to maximize their damage output and adaptability in battle,
- The Sword & Shield combo is receiving an attack boost along with refined movement mechanics to enhance fluidity and effectiveness in combat.
For those who missed out on monsters from previous seasons, the new feature Monster Unlock Quests will allow players to bring back previously available creatures, permanently adding them to the field once certain conditions are met. Due to this feature, hunters can once again track down creatures like Zinogre, Deviljho, and Mizutsune through specific seasonal quests.
On top of that, a brand-new Event Exchange Hub will launch on March 17, 2025, offering a way for players to trade in exchangeable materials for in-game rewards. Plus, an upcoming feature will soon let hunters rechallenge a monster after a successful takedown using gems, giving players a chance to refine their strategies or farm materials efficiently.
To celebrate the beginning of The Blossoming Blade season, Niantic is running a Repost Campaign on X (formerly Twitter). If the official post reaches 5,000 reposts, players can redeem a special code for bonus materials, including Monster Bone M, Dragonite Ore, Godbug, and Carpenterbug.
Developed by Niantic and Capcom and launched on Sept. 14, 2023, Monster Hunter Now generated over $250 million in gross revenue across Google Play and the App Store by November 2024. The game has been downloaded over 15 million times worldwide as of December 2024.
