EA released the source code for such titles as Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert, Renegade, and Generals Zero Hour from the Command & Conquer series, alongside Steam Workshop support.

This release follows the 2024 launch of the Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection on Steam. EA took steps to support modders even earlier by commissioning modder Luke CCHyper Feenan to research improvements for the series.  Four above-mentioned games from the C&C lineup got full Steam Workshop integration due to that collaboration.

In addition to the source code, EA has updated the Mission Editor and World Builder tools, enabling users to publish custom maps directly to the Steam Workshop. They’ve also released the C&C Modding Support Pack, which includes assets like XML, Schema, Script, Shader, and Map files for all games that use the SAGE engine.
