Blizzard revealed a new set of survey skins for Overwatch 2. The official concept arts were revealed, but no other assets were publicly shown.
In the past, multiple skins included in similar teasers made it into Overwatch 2. The base idea is that Blizzard wants community feedback regarding the cosmetics – which helps them choose which ones to incorporate into the game.
Themes present in the newest set of survey skins include Bees, Glided Sands, Lunar Eclipse, Voidwalker, Magical Spellbinders, Spring Fairy, Elemental Champions, Court of Roses, Four Horsemen, and Futurewear. Many of the concept arts were for heroes that very often get ignored by Blizzard.
Venture, a hero that debuted in April of 2024, is also one of the more neglected heroes that received concept arts for potential skins.
Black Cat Mercy, a skin that is currently available in Overwatch 2, was initially featured in a 2023 survey. Similarly, skins from the Winter Outfits and Chinese theme collections, which are now part of the game, were also first introduced through player surveys.
Overwatch 2 is a competitive, team based shooter. After the release of Marvel Rivals, the game’s playerbase dropped substantially. Despite the increased competition, Blizzard is actively updating and improving upon the game – showcased in their season 16 spotlight.
