In a recent Q&A following its fiscal year 2024 earnings report, Shift Up revealed that it expects the PC port of Stellar Blade to outperform the PS5 version in sales.

The studio’s optimism comes from the growing popularity of single-player action games in Asia and the upcoming launch of their major title, Stellar Blade, on the global PC gaming market within the year 2025. According to Shift Up, PCs now hold a bigger share of the AAA gaming market than consoles.

The company also pointed out that it has analyzed both successful and underperforming releases of console exclusives on PC, giving them a better understanding of how to achieve success in a new market. To ensure the best possible experience for players, Shift Up is taking several steps, including optimizing the game for smooth performance on portable PCs like Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally.  They’re also focusing on improving user convenience, adding extra content, and tailoring their marketing efforts to suit the PC audience.

The studio is riding high on the success of Stellar Blade, with the game selling over 1 million copies already and contributing significantly to their record revenue of approximately $151 million in Fiscal Year 2024, marking an increase of over 30% year-over-year.

Looking ahead, Shift Up is also working on Project Witches, a fresh title set for release in 2027, while expanding its team from 322 to over 400 employees by the end of 2025.
