The developers of Plants Vs. Zombies is looking for help from its fans about where the game’s art direction should go, based on a blog post uploaded on February 7. The developers are asking fans to choose the one they like from three choices and talk about it on social media.

The art laid out on the game’s blog post gets increasingly stylized with the last one having “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” vibes. According to the blog post, the developers consider the art style and direction of the game to be one of the most fundamental things to Plants vs. Zombies.

The developers have already done tests with their focus groups, but want to do an even wider test. Because of this, they want fans the wider part of their fanbase to be able to voice their opinions on social media regarding which style they want to see for the next game. Their Twitter post regarding it already has hundreds of replies with an overwhelming amount of them preferring the last picture.

Plants Vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburia was soft-launched in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Australia, Philippines, and the Republic of Ireland in January 2024 before being taken down again in October of the same year. The game was pulled out due to the developers wanting an even better experience for the players. The blog post for the art direction might be their first step as they’ve said they’re re-imagining the game completely.

As of writing, there’s no release date in sight for Plants Vs. Zombies 3.
