Firaxis Games has officially revealed the post-launch roadmap for Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, outlining a mix of free and paid content set to arrive throughout 2025.

The announcement was made during one of the special developer livestream events, Civ Stream, where game creators provided details on upcoming DLC packs, events, and gameplay enhancements.

Firaxis has divided Civilization 7’s post-launch support into multiple phases, with major paid expansions and also free updates. The first major DLC release, titled Crossroads of the World Collection, is a two-part expansion arriving in March. Part one, set for early March, will introduce Leader Ada Lovelace, four Natural Wonders, and two new Civilizations: Carthage and Great Britain. Later in the month, part two will bring Leader Simón Bolívar, along with the Bulgaria and Nepal Civilizations.

Additionally, Firaxis has confirmed that free content updates will be rolled out in parallel with these expansions. March will feature two major events: Natural Wonder Battle and Bermuda Triangle Natural Wonder in the first half, followed by Marvelous Mountains and Mount Everest Natural Wonder later in the month.

Looking ahead, Firaxis has also announced the Right Rule Collection, expected to launch in the summer of 2025. This expansion will introduce two new leaders, four new civilizations, and four new world wonders. Though specific dates have yet to be revealed, additional free updates and patches will continue to roll out between April and September, ensuring ongoing improvements to the game.

In a developer diary published alongside the roadmap, Firaxis shared its broader vision for Civilization 7’s post-launch lifecycle. The team confirmed plans to add new multiplayer features, including expanded lobby sizes, team-based gameplay options, and increased map variety. Furthermore, modding tools are set to arrive later in the year.

Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 is set to launch on Feb. 11, 2025, across PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The previous installment of the franchise, Sid Meier’s Civilization 6, has sold over 11 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling installment in the Civilization series yet.
