Mafia: The Old Country’s Release Date Was Accidentally Leaked By the Developers

- Mafia: The Old Country’s release date was accidentally leaked by the developers in a Steam blog post.
- The post mentioned that the game would be released on August 8.
- The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC upon release.
According to a Spanish Steam post, Mafia: The Old Country will be released on August 8. This information was first spotted by videotechuk on Twitter.
The post was initially talking about the PAX Developer Panel appearance of the game, however, eagle-eyed fans have immediately spotted something wrong. The base of the announcement contained an alleged release date of the game.
If true, their publisher, Take-Two, has quite a bit of a pipeline for Summer and Fall. Videotechuk pointed out that the game only adds to the Borderlands 4 and Grand Theft Auto 6 already slated for release this year.
Take-Two mentioned before that they’re only going to start releasing promotional materials of their games when they’re close to their window of release. Considering that the post is promoting an appearance at PAX East on May 8, an August 8 release is not that hard to believe, as the two dates are pretty close to each other.
Mafia: The Old Country was hinted at an interview in 2022, where the developers mentioned that they have started development of a new Mafia project. It would take two years before the game was officially revealed at Gamescom: Opening Night Live 2024 and the Game Awards 2024.
Mafia: The Old Country will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC upon release.
