In Nintendo’s eShop page for Virtual Game Cards, an upcoming feature for all switch consoles releasing late April 2025, the company mentions Switch 2 Edition Games. This phrase has never been mentioned on Nintendo’s official news outlets.

The leak shows an image of a marketing advert for the Nintendo Switch 2 – towards the bottom right of the right joy con a C button can be seen. Previous trailers for the Nintendo Switch 2 displayed the button, but it had no letter engraved on it. Nintendo has not announced what the button does; therefore, speculations stating that the button will be used for screen capturing abilities have not been confirmed nor denied.

These leaks follow the broadcast of the Nintendo Switch 1 Direct, which occurred on March 27. During the direct, Nintendo revealed numerous new titles coming for the original console while also explaining the game library sharing capabilities of Virtual Game Cards.

The Virtual Game Cards will allow for local wireless transfers of digitally owned Nintendo Switch titles, and will be implemented on all variants of the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo’s official video outlines the details of the upcoming feature.
