Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma Director Teases New Triple-A Action Game

New details about an upcoming project from LightSpeed Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent, were teased by Hideaki Itsuno, the legendary director behind Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma.
Departuring after three decades with Capcom and participating in the creation of 32 games, Itsuno took over the leadership of LightSpeed Japan Studio, where he’s now leading a new development team. During a panel at the 2025th Game Developers Conference (GDC), he shared the details of the studio’s debut title, a triple-A action game rooted in a Japanese style.
“Our focus is on developing gameplay elements that offer players entirely new experiences – the kind of innovations that make players say, ‘I’ve never seen that in a game before’,’” said Hideaki Itsuno
Besides that, LightSpeed elaborated on Itsuno’s vision for the studio, highlighting his extensive experience directing franchises such as Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma.
