- Ballistic Moon has been reportedly closed down.
- Only the founder supposedly remains.
- Until Dawn Remake is no longer receiving updates.
Until Dawn Remake Developer Ballistic Moon was reportedly shut down. The game development studio had faced numerous layoffs prior – with a handful of devs being kept on board to help support Until Dawn Remakes’ patch updates.
But according to Insider Gaming, all of the studio, excluding the founder, has been laid off – indicating a studio shut down. The exclusive story was shared with Insider Gaming, but the interviewees asked to remain anonymous.
“People are sharing bugs they’ve found in the game to make the team aware but there is no one working on patch support for the game anymore. The studio has effectively closed now,” the anonymous interviewee shared with Insider Gaming.
The heads of the studio reportedly attempted to create more games, which required securing funding alongside finding a new publisher. Ballistic Moon failed in doing so – likely prompting the studio shut down.
Sony had mentioned potential future partnerships with the studio following Until Dawn Remake’s release, but it appears they decided against publishing more of Ballistic Moon’s titles.
No official announcement was made by the studio’s leaders regarding the shut down. Therefore, the studio is technically still “active,” despite having no supposed workforce.
