Bitmap Bureau revealed their upcoming game, Terminator 2D: No Fates – a 2d action side-scroller releasing on September 5, 2025. The game will debut on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

The game retells the story of Terminator 2: Judgement Day, expanding on the original narrative. Players can control Sarah Connor, John Connor, and T-800 – all three of whom have different playstyles catered towards their identities in the movies.

Mike Tucker, design director and programmer at Bitmap Bureau, dives deeper into the character gameplay design philosophies on the official PlayStation website.

Terminator 2D: No Fate is a love letter to the arcade games from the ‘80s/’90s. Mike Tucker said his “mission was to create the T2 side-scroller we should have had in our youth.”

Preorders for the game are now available. The cheapest preorder option, Day One Edition, costs £37.49 (~$48). Other preorder options include the Collector’s Edition alongside Online Exclusive Edition, which both cost £74.99 (~$96). Pricing is the same across all platforms.

Studio Bitmap Bureau is a small game development studio that specializes in retro games. They created Xeno Crisis, a 2D arena shooter that released in 2019. The homebrewed game launched on retro consoles, such as the GameBoy Advance, as well as on modern consoles.
