Schell Games, the developers behind Among Us VR, announced Among Us 3D which introduces the third dimension to the original 2D game. In Among Us 3D, players won’t need a Virtual Reality (VR) headset in order to play the game.
Among Us VR has always been locked behind owning a VR headset, however this rebranding will toss that requirement away which opens up the game to a wider audience. The developers also assured players that those who want to use a VR headset will still be able to and that the game will be able to crossplay with those who don’t have a VR headset.
There will also be new content added to Among Us 3D including returning fan-favorie tasks and new cosmetics. There will also be a new game mode introduced at launch, but the developers are keeping things quiet for now. There’s currently no date as to when the rebranding will happen, however the game will be participating in Steam’s Next Fest from February 24 to March 3.
