Key points
  1. Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game is being delayed for the second time.
  2. The release date of the game is now on July 29.
  3. The game was announced back in September 2023 and already has a couple of previews floating around.

Tales of the Shire announced its second delay on February 20 on a blog post uploaded on their official Twitter account. According to the developers, they’re going to take a little bit more time with the game to make sure that every player will be able to enjoy “the same cosy experience”.

The announcement also contains the new release date for Tales of the Shire which is now on July 29, 2025. The announcement is centered around making “every platform” play the same way. This might indicate optimization problems on other platforms that the developers are now trying to fix, considering that the game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the PC.

The game suffered its first delay on September 13, 2024. The announcement was short and it included a new release window which is early 2025. After a week and some change, the developers released a video revealing the new launch date which is on March 25, 2024.

Tales of the Shire was first announced on September 22, 2023. It aims to be a cozy game with the setting of the Lord of the Rings. Players will play as a Hobbit who can garden, fish, and cook meals as well as form connections with other NPCs. Previews of the game were already up since last year, with IGN even uploading two of them.
