Hytale will officially cost $19.99 upon launch, a price point that Hypixel’s founder Simon Collins-Laflamme has set as aggressively low as possible. The title was thought to be canceled earlier this year after Riot Games shut down Hypixel Studios in June 2025. On Nov. 17, Laflamme bought Hytale from Riot Games and rehired over 30 former developers, with a growing team of now 50 individuals.
The official game’s social media account mentioned that they will offer a Support and Founders pack, which will provide cosmetics such as capes, hats, and more. These are more expensive bundles to help support the team and Hytale’s development. Here are the prices:
- Standard: $19.99
- Supporter: $34.99
- Curse Breaker Founders Pack: $69.99
Though the price points have been set, the game is not near shipping.
“The game is unfinished and runs on a build from over four years ago. Charging more didn’t feel right. I don’t think the game is good yet,” the founder admitted. He expressed that him and the team are working hard to make it good, then great, but the vision is clear and progress is fast.
The goal is to build a game and evolve it with time to meet the game’s needs and players’ responses. The estimate is two years before the developers can consider early access with it. Therefore, the leadership decided to abandon cross-platform for now and return to the Legacy Engine, which is once again PC only.
