The global market for PC gaming hardware, which includes desktops and laptops, DIY components, and peripherals/accessories, is expected to see a 35% growth in 2025, reaching $44.5 billion, as reported by Jon Peddie Research (JPR) consulting firm on Sept. 18, 2025.

According to JPR’s senior analyst of game tech, Ted Pollak, the migration to Windows 11 (as Windows 10 support officially ends on Oct. 10, 2025) comes with a forced hardware migration requirement, which will make over 100 million gamers upgrade their CPU, motherboard, and RAM as well.

“We are observing that most PC gamers are simply buying new prebuilt systems. The DIY gamers are also prepared for this transition, and many have been building new computers alongside their existing Windows 10 PCs, instead of trying to Frankenstein their current systems. This allows them to continue using their PC until their Windows 11 builds are complete,” claimed Pollak.

It is worth noting that the JPR’s PC Gaming Hardware Market Study examines 31 countries and covers the total market, including systems and accessories.
