In a Reddit post, the team behind the Legion Go Gen 2 announced that it has canceled the preorders for the gaming handheld on its website because the handheld “substantially exceeded our projections, leading to unforeseen delivery range extensions.”
The thread was initially created as an AMA post where fans and potential buyers of the Legion Go Gen 2 could ask the developers questions. However, it quickly evolved into an announcement thread where the developers had to keep everyone updated regarding the stocks and the status of the preorders.
“We wanted to share an update after connecting with our Lenovo retail colleagues around the world. The good news is that more units are already on their way to major retailers globally, so you can expect to see availability in retail outlets and websites improving in the coming weeks,” said the developers.
They also said that they are taking down all current preorders on the Lenovo website, saying, “We don’t believe in holding onto customer payments for products we can’t ship in a timely manner.”
The Lenovo Legion Go Gen 2 is slated to be released in October. People in the replies of the post said that most of their orders are said to arrive on Oct. 31, 2025, at least for those staying in North America.
