Key points
- Duet Night Abyss developers are ditching the gacha monetization model of the game.
- The developers are fully switching to a cosmetic monetization model and prioritizing building player trust instead of a quick buck.
- The game is expected to be released on Oct. 28, 2025.
Duet Night Abyss, a free-to-play action RPG, announced that it will ditch the gacha monetization model, essentially moving away from luck-based ways to acquire characters to a grind-based system. Additionally, the game has also scrapped its stamina system.
In a livestream on Aug. 26, 2025, the developers revealed all the changes that they made before the game’s launch on Oct. 28, 2025. The developers believe that removing the gacha elements will cause them short-term revenue loss, but building trust and a healthy ecosystem with players is much more important. With gacha elements gone, the developers announced that they will focus solely on cosmetics as their main way of making money.
The removal of the stamina system also helps, as players can now continuously grind the characters that they want. The developers mentioned that players can grind fragments of characters that will reduce their cost. If the player reaches a certain number of fragments, the character becomes completely free.
Duet Night Abyss is expected to be released on Oct. 28, 2025, as mentioned above. It will be available on mobile and PC via the Epic Games Store. Western fans of the game call it the anime Warframe, as the game takes obvious inspiration from the former through its modding and movement.
