- Call of Duty is extending its Double XP Event.
- The extension of the event is due to PSN’s sudden disruption during the weekend.
- The Double XP event will now end on February 12.
Treyarch, the creators of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone, is extending the game’s double XP event due to disruptions that happened with PSN during the weekend. The event will now end on February 12 at 10 A.M. Pacific.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 had its double XP event on February 7, which was supposed to end on the 10th. However, PSN had problems that prevented players from connecting the same day the event started. This disruption resulted in PlayStation Call of Duty players losing their chance to take advantage of the event.
The PSN disruption was only fixed after a day. PlayStation said that it was only an operational issue and offered subscribers an additional five days of PlayStation Plus for free. Call of Duty wasn’t the only one affected by PSN going down. Monster Hunter Wilds’ beta on the PlayStation was also affected, and similar to Call of Duty, Capcom is planning on extending the beta for a day to compensate for the lost time.
Call of Duty is a long-running franchise published by Activision. Its recent release, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, launched on October 2024 and received generally favorable reviews from Metacritic.
