Resident Evil Re:Verse is Shutting Down This June

Capcom is calling it quits with Resident Evil Re:Verse as they plan on shutting down the game on June 29, 2025.
A blog post written by Capcom lists how the game will shut down. On March 3, the game will be taken out of online storefronts. This includes Steam, the PlayStation Store, and others. While the game is already out of the storefronts, players will still be able to play the game. The servers will be completely shut down on June 29 which will prevent players from accessing the game.
Players with Premium Pass and RP Boosters will not receive any incentives or have their purchases refunded. The blog post reads “You can play the game with any content you have unlocked until the service period ends. Once service ends, your Premium Pass benefits will no longer be available”.
Resident Evil Re:Verse was released back in October of 2022 and was eventually bundled with Resident Evil Village. The game was developed as a celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
However, the game has suffered from negative reception from players. The game is not even listed on Metacritic and Steam reviews are currently at “Mostly Negative” with one player saying “Got it for free and still feel robbed”. IGN also gave the game a 5/10. Resident Evil Re:Verse was released on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series S/X, and on Steam.
