Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has reached 7 million players, according to an announcement from the game’s publisher, Focus Entertainment, on June 12, 2025, via X (formerly Twitter).
Developed by Saber St. Petersburg, Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 was released on Sept. 24, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S.
In Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2, players follow the story of Captain Titus as he returns to the Imperium after being severely injured and placed in stasis for 200 years.
The game was awarded “Best Foreign Video Game” at the 6th Pégases Awards in 2025. As of the time of writing, Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 119,607 reviews and a peak of 225,690 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.
The news comes three days after the launch of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition, a remaster of 2011’s original Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.
As reported by Gaming.News on March 13, 2025, a sequel to the game, titled Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, is already in the works by Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive.
