Path of Exile (PoE) is about to get a massive expansion titled Secrets of the Atlas on June 13, 2025, following the 36th update, Settlers of Kalguur, released on July 26, 2024.

Endgame of PoE will receive an additive storyline, a new type of crafting mechanic, three new bosses, multiple unique items, and a new challenge league in Secrets of the Atlas.

A new endgame storyline will present Eagon, a man on a path of discovering his origins, who intends to save Zana and discover what causes the Threads of Consciousness, a strange substance that appears near the Tears.

Besides that, with the launch of Secrets of the Atlas, players will be able to collect powers of defeated monsters imbued with Memory Petals, which will grant a special ability to each one of them. Also, the Atlas Passive Tree with new passive skills will be introduced in the new expansion.

A new item mechanic, Memory Strands, along with Crafting Currencies, will be introduced in Secrets of the Atlas. To unveil them, players will need to defeat the Pinnacle bosses and obtain Memory-Influenced Maps.

Betrayal mechanic will be reworked making The Mastermind accessible through a new fragment that has a chance to drop from Safehouse Leaders.

On top of that, members of the new challenge league titled Mercenaries of Trarthus, each with different builds, skills, and pre-equipped items, will be located all over Wraeclast. In accordance with Trarthan tradition, each member of the new league will challenge the player’s character to a duel to test the hero’s strength. In case of a player’s victory, the mercenary of Trarthus will become available for hire.

Notably, Kingsmarch from the Settlers of Kalguur league is going core in Secrets of the Atlas, and his services will be in full effect right from the start.

Developed and published by Grinding Gear Games, PoE was released for Windows PC on October 23, 2013, following nine months of an open beta phase. It then received a version for Xbox One on August 24, 2017, a PlayStation 4 port on March 26, 2019, and a macOS version on September 18, 2020.

Sequel to PoE, Path of Exile 2 also developed and published by Grinding Gear Games was released as a paid early access title for Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on December 6, 2024.
