Nintendo is reportedly sending printed signs with the text “Out of Stock” to US retailers to help them inform customers about the shortage of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles for sale.
According to a photo posted by Reddit user Alternative_Basket19, the store the user seemingly works at received red printed signs with the Nintendo Switch 2 logo and a large message informing about the console’s depleted inventory.
It is worth noting that analyst Robin Zhu of Sanford C. Bernstein previously stated that he believes the Nintendo Switch 2 will be the biggest console launch in history.
The new-generation console from Nintendo is set for release on June 5, 2025. Nintendo Switch 2 preorders, which started in the US on April 24, 2025, featured an unchanged price of $449.99 despite all the perturbations caused by Trump’s tariffs. Notably, while the console’s price remained unchanged from the originally stated amount, as well as the $499.99 price of the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle, the cost of all the accessories for Nintendo’s new console has risen to evaluate the potential impact of tariffs.
It is worth noting that during April’s Nintendo Direct dedicated to the reveal of the Switch 2, the Japanese company also showcased the lineup of games coming to the new console. Some of the titles will be available starting on Switch 2 launch day, including Mario Kart World, Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom with improved graphics, framerate and smartphone navigation, Split Fiction, Hitman: World of Assassination Signature Edition, Cyberpunk 2077 and Civilization VII.
