Call of Duty: Mobile Adds Black Ops’ Zoo Map and NieR: Automata Collab in Season 5 Update

|
- Zoo map from 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops returns to multiplayer in Season 5 of Call of Duty: Mobile.
- Update adds NieR: Automata crossover, gameplay rebalance, and free legendary AK-47.
- Launch follows news of Warzone Mobile shutdown due to low performance and engagement.
Season 5 of Call of Duty: Mobile, titled Primal Reckoning, adds Zoo — a medium-sized multiplayer map first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops in 2010. The update also includes a broad weapon and equipment rebalance and a collaboration with NieR: Automata.
Gameplay changes include improved movement and ADS speed for the MSMC SMG, range buffs for the MX9 and FR .556, recoil adjustments for the Peacekeeper MK2, and reduced penalties for several attachments. The Cryo Bomb and Tactical Mask perks were also modified, along with tweaks to operator skills and scorestreak costs (notably, notorious R.A.P.S. scorestreak now requires 2 more kills to summon — 1050 points, up from 920).
The season features a crossover with NieR: Automata, adding three themed Operators — Kui Ji (YoRHa No. 9 Type S), Kestrel (YoRHa No. 2 Type B), and Fiona St. George (Commander White) — plus two Lucky Draws and exclusive cosmetics like the AK-47 Final Apocalypact and PP19 Bizon Morph Symphony.
New weapons include the VMP submachine gun and a free legendary variant of the AK-47 “Final Apocalypact”.
The new season comes just days after Activision announced it will cease support of rivaling mobile title Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, citing performance and engagement issues.
Call of Duty: Mobile – Primal Reckoning launches on May 28 at 5 p.m. PT. The game resets its season numbering at the start of each calendar year, meaning every year begins with Season 1 regardless of how many seasons came before.
