Nintendo Switch 2 Reaches Over 60,000 Units Sold on Amazon Japan Alone

The Nintendo Switch 2 has reached over 60,000 units sold on Amazon Japan, according to a report by NintendoSoup. The Switch 2 Japan-only version, which includes the Mario Kart World Set, leads the sales with over 40,000 units already sold.
NintendoSoup has provided a breakdown of the Switch 2 sales in Amazon Japan, including other variants:
- Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-Language System (Japan-Only) — over 600 units
- Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-Language System (Japan-Only) Mario Kart World Set — over 40,000 units
- Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-Language System (Japan-Only) + 256GB microSD Express Card — over 10,000 units
- Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-Language System (Japan-Only) Mario Kart World Set + 256GB microSD Express Card — over 10,000 units
Additionally, accessories for the Switch 2 are also performing quite well. The Switch 2 camera has sold over 1,000 units, while the Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip has sold more than 3,000 units.
Japanese retailers are still currently operating on a lottery basis, which means that those who want to buy a Switch 2 will need to enter one and hope that they will be chosen as one of the lucky winners. It’s unclear when the console’s supply will stabilize for Nintendo to close its lottery system.
