The collaboration between Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6 was officially revealed by Capcom. A paid DLC will arrive on May 28, 2025, alongside a free themed update.
The new free DLC will bring a side mission, Ultimate Strength, featuring Akuma in action and special collaboration rewards for its completion. Ultimate Strength will be available for hunters at HR 21 or higher. To start the side mission, players need to talk to Quinn, the Vespae Unit handler, at the Oilwell Basin Base Camp.
Hunters can also earn additional rewards by completing the accompanying collaboration arena quests, Demonic Strength and True Strength. Besides the Akuma and Blanka-chan full armor sets and layered equipment, the free DLC will add a new background, nameplate and pose for hunter profiles. Notably, after its release as a free update, this collaboration will be a permanent addition to the game.
Equipping either the Akuma or Blanka-chan set will allow playable characters to use Akuma’s unique item and gestures to perform his fighting moves.
On top of that, Capcom declared that, with the collaboration, Monster Hunter Wilds will recreate the Drive Impact, a system exclusive to Street Fighter 6.
Akuma’s actions will be available for selection from the item bar. The Assisted Combo: Akuma item command will branch out into various combo attacks and unleash moves such as Gou Hadoken and Gou Shoryuken.
Capcom highlighted that the attack power of Akuma’s unique actions will be determined by the main equipped weapon. Equipping the full armor set will significantly boost attack power compared to using the full layered armor set. Additionally, Assisted Combos and other actions will gain stun properties, while the Drive Impact action will gain an offset effect.
As for the paid DLC, it will include Chun-Li’s and Cammy’s outfits, a Blanka-chan doll, a Street Fighter 6 sticker set, and Hadoken, Shoryuken and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku gestures that have attack properties.
