Sony announced that they are canceling PlayStation Stars; the current version of the program no longer accepts new members. PlayStation Stars will be officially discontinued on Nov. 2, 2026. According to the official PlayStation blog, current members can “earn Digital Collectibles, points, and level up their status until July 23, 2025 at 7:59AM PDT.”
After the specified date, no updated version of PlayStation Stars Campaigns will be available; all rewards and satisfaction benefits will halt. Though the program will be discontinued, members can still access their Digital Collectibles.
“Since launching the program, we’ve learned a lot from evaluating the types of activities our players respond best to, and as a company, we are always evolving with player and industry trends,” Sony representative Grace Chen said in the official blog.
“Through this evaluation, we have decided to refocus our efforts and will be winding down the current version of PlayStation Stars. We will continue to evaluate our key findings from this program, and are looking into ways to build upon these learnings.”
Sony is looking towards expanding and evolving their loyalty program, but have not specified the nature of the future business rewards. PlayStation Stars debuted in 2022, and was intended as a fun way to celebrate players’ achievements.
