Destiny 2 showcases upcoming Renegades expansion with launch trailer and documentary

The launch trailer for the upcoming Destiny 2: Renegades expansion, created in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games and inspired by Star Wars, was rolled out on Nov. 25, 2025.

Destiny 2: Renegades is planned to launch on Dec. 2, 2025, with Shattered Cycle and The Alchemist expansions slated for release in summer and winter 2026, respectively.

The major arsenal arrival in Renegades is the Praxic Blade, Destiny 2’s lightsaber-inspired kinetic Exotic sword, which offers multiple customization paths, along with earnable cosmetics that alter the color of the blade.

Besides that, Renegades also debuts a new weapon archetype, Blasters, which features a heat-based firing and reload system that replaces traditional magazines.

Lawless Frontier

Renegades will also bring to the game a new activity called the Lawless Frontier, which will allow players to build reputation with different Syndicate factions through the new Notoriety system, taking on a range of solo or three-person missions commissioned by three distinct factions:

• The Pikers – an anarchist and atheist biker gang of Eliksni seeking to build a society free from traditional ranks and hierarchy;
• Tharsis Reformation – a breakaway sect of sentient Vex, driven by a desire to experience personal identity outside the Vex collective;
• Totality Division – a rogue branch of the Barant Imperium Cabal, operating as a Syndicate on Mars and ruled by psions.

Players will be able to complete multiple job types for Syndicates, including Smuggling runs to transport valuable goods between Syndicate facilities, Bounty Hunts that track and eliminate high-value targets, and Sabotage operations that disrupt rival Syndicate strongholds.

On top of that, Lawless Frontier features new maps set on Mars, Europa, and Venus, along with the new Invasion mode, an opt-in feature that allows a Guardian to spawn into the playing field to disrupt progress and earn unique rewards.

The game will also see the addition of a new dungeon, Equilibrium, which is slated for release on Dec. 13, 2025.

Destiny 2: Renegades ViDoc

The second expansion of Fate Saga’s first year, Year of Prophecy, was also presented with a documentary dedicated to its development and showcasing the creation of new weapons, characters, and music.

Set in a mythic sci-fi universe, Destiny 2 allows players to assume the role of a Guardian, protector of Earth’s last safe city, as they wield a power called Light to protect humanity from different alien races and combat the looming threat of the Darkness. The game features a multiplayer environment with elements of role-playing games and, like its predecessor, 2014’s Destiny, is divided into PvE and PvP environments.

The game is available on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
