Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin finally landed on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on Nov. 14, 2025, allowing Xbox players to enjoy the RPG spin-off of Monster Hunter.

Different from the main Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Stories is more story-driven, taking the player on an adventure to slay and catch monsters as they progress through the game.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection - Pre-order Trailer

According to a press release, Capcom said that there will be bonuses for players who have Monster Hunter save files on the same platform. The bonuses are:

  • Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin save data unlocks the “Mahana Rider” outfit for Navirou in Monster Hunter Stories.
  • Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin save data unlocks the “Rider” outfit in Monster Hunter Rise.
  • Monster Hunter Rise save data unlocks the “Kamura Garb” layered armor in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

Additionally, Capcom has also introduced a “special discounted bundle” for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5 and PC via Steam.

Monster Hunter Stories was released back in 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS. The sequel, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, followed in 2021 for the Nintendo Switch and the PC. Finally, the upcoming Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will be released on March 12, 2026.
