On Nov. 13, 2025, Crystal Dynamics, the studio behind the Tomb Raider games, announced that it had conducted another wave of layoffs — the third in 2025 alone. The announcement was published on LinkedIn, together with a message of support to those who were laid off.
“Today we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to reorganize Crystal Dynamics’ studios and teams,” said the company. Crystal Dynamics then said that it has let go of under 30 team members across various departments.
And just like its previous statements, the company said it was going to support those who were let go by offering its “fullest resources.” Crystal Dynamics also said that the decision to lay off employees was made “to optimize the continued development of our flagship Tomb Raider game.”
This is the third time the studio has let go of employees this year. The first one was in August, when the studio explained that the layoffs were necessary to ensure its long-term health. Then another followed in September, following the cancellation of the Perfect Dark reboot.
At the time of writing, Crystal Dynamics is still working on the next installment of the Tomb Raider franchise. No release window has been announced by the studio yet.
