Publishing of rhythm-based action game Hi-Fi Rush transferred from Bethesda Softworks to Krafton, which became the game’s IP owner and parent company of the title’s developer, Tango Gameworks, back in 2024.
The announcement was published on Nov 14, 2025, on the official website of the new game’s service operator, explaining that digital storefronts will gradually be updated to show the new publisher’s name, and in-game elements reflecting these changes will be updated through a patch scheduled for release on Dec. 4, 2025.
Game’s developer Tango Gameworks, which also created such titles as The Evil Within, The Evil Within 2, and Ghostwire: Tokyo, was initially Capcom’s studio and then became a subsidiary of ZeniMax Media (parent company for Bethesda Softworks), which was acquired by Microsoft in March 2021, making Tango the first Japanese studio in Microsoft Gaming’s development portfolio.
Microsoft closed the studio in June 2024, and in August 2024, South Korean publisher Krafton announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire the studio from Microsoft for an undisclosed amount.
Hi-Fi Rush, whose soundtrack encompasses licensed music from bands such as The Black Keys and Nine Inch Nails, was originally released for Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S on Jan 25, 2023, and then ported to PlayStation 5 on March 19, 2024.
The game’s story follows self-proclaimed “future rock star” Chai, whose music player got accidentally embedded in his chest during experimental cybernetic surgery, allowing him to rhythmically fight and re-perceive the world through environmental synesthesia. Labelled a “defect” and hunted by the corporation that transformed him, Chai bands together with new friends to defeat the company’s executives and put a stop to their plans.

Hi-Fi Rush received 5 accolades in different categories across multiple industry award ceremonies.
As of the time of writing, Hi-Fi Rush has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam with 25,948 reviews.
