On Nov. 12, 2025, Ubisoft and Evil Empire announced that The Rogue Prince of Persia is coming to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on Dec. 16, 2025. The game was received well by critics, earning a score of 80 or generally favorable on Metacritic.
The developers mentioned that the Switch versions of the game will feature optimization for handheld and hybrid play. Additionally, all content from the 1.0 release of the game will also be included in the Switch versions.
Interestingly, the press release mentioned that there will be a “reimagined art direction.” Still, it’s unclear whether the reimagined art direction is for the Switch version only, or if it’s talking about the game as a whole, considering that, compared to previous Prince of Persia titles, The Rogue Prince of Persia is very stylized.
While the initial launch of the game on the Switch will only be digital, a physical version is being planned to be released for the Switch and PlayStation 5 on April 10, 2026. There will be two editions: Standard and Immortal.
The Immortal edition of the game will contain a double-sided poster, fine art cards and reverse sides combining to form part of a game world map. The game will also be enclosed in a premium SteelBook case with a sleeve.
Preorders for the game’s physical editions start on Nov. 14, 2025. Ubisoft is urging fans to check their local retailers for pricing and availability.
