The Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB) issued a legal claim against Rockstar Games, defending previous Rockstar employees. The IWGB stated that union members had been unfairly dismissed, believing that the dismissals amount to victimization and collectivize dismissal linked to trade union activity.

The company is responsible for the creation of Grand Theft Auto VI, which recently received a delay to Nov. 19, 2026, from the previous May 26 scheduled release date.

“We are representing employees who were dismissed by Rockstar Games in circumstances that we believe amount to victimisation and collective dismissal linked to trade union activity,” IWGB’s legal team announced

Despite their attempts to meet with Rockstar to resolve the matters through negotiations, the IWGB legal team stated that Rockstar refused to cooperate and persisted to terminate members of the union “in a manner that is unacceptable and unlawful.”

The president of IWGB Alex Marshall stated that they are confident that what has occurred is plain and simple union busting. And in response, the IWGB will mount a full legal defense against

Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, had dismissed 31 employees, with Rockstar’s official statement claiming the employees distributed confidential information in a public forum.
