Base salaries of full-time Sega Corporation employees in Japan will be raised by an average of approximately 10%, according to the company’s press release posted on Nov. 12, 2025.

The raise will affect all of the corporation’s employees in Japan, including new hires starting April 1, 2026. As a result of this revision, the starting monthly salary for university graduates will increase by 10%, from 300,000 Japanese yen to 330,000 yen, which is approximately a change from $1,937 to $2,130 as of the time of writing.

The company said that it aims to create an environment in which employees can work with peace of mind amid recent social changes such as rising prices.

This will be the second time Sega implements a base salary increase for its employees, following a 35% rise in July 2023.

Notably, Sega is not the only Japanese gaming company implementing such practices; in April 2024, FromSoftware increased its employees’ average base salary by 11.8%, and Capcom applied a 25% increase in March 2025.
