CD Projekt hired Katrel Kolmann, a Warhorse Studios veteran of eight years. The announcement was officially confirmed via social media on Nov. 10; Kolmann is joining as a senior quest designer to work on The Witcher 4. The social media post states that “Things are happening!”
Kolmann’s previous work on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 included designing the game’s crime system and its Hardcore mode.
Both The Witcher 3 and the Kingdom Come series have deeply immersive worlds and system quest designs. As for The Witcher 4, the latest upcoming title for the series, the title marks the first of a new trilogy within the franchise. The game officially entered full production in 2024, but it will not be released before 2027 at the earliest.
CD Projekt Red is the video game development studio responsible for Cyberpunk 2077, a title that has sold over 30 million copies and won the BAFTA award for Best Evolving Game in 2024. As for The Witcher franchise, the entire series has sold over 75 million copies worldwide. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sold more than 60 million copies.
