Red Dead Redemption 2 took fourth place on the list of best-selling video games of all time, following only Wii Sports with 82.9 million, Grand Theft Auto V with 220 million, and Minecraft with an enormous 350 million copies sold.
According to the report from the game’s developing parent company Take-Two, published on Nov 6, 2025, the game sold over 79 million units, making it the “best-selling title of the last seven years in the U.S. based on dollar sales.”
Developed and published by Rockstar Games, the third entry in the Red Dead series and a prequel to the 2010’s Red Dead Redemption is playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The game received 26 accolades across multiple categories at various industry award ceremonies.
As of the time of writing, the title has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam with 734,708 reviews and an all-time peak of 99,993 concurrent players on Steam.
