Release of the single-player action title Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra was rescheduled once more, following the previous postponement in May 2025, which moved the game’s launch from its original 2025 window to early 2026.
According to the announcement made by the game’s developer Skydance Games via a post on their X (formerly Twitter) account on Nov. 6, 2025, the title’s debut was shifted beyond early 2026.
The upcoming action-adventure title will offer players an ensemble of four characters to control: besides main protagonists Captain America and Black Panther, will be available Howling Commandos member Gabriel Jones and the leader of the Wakandan Spy Network, Nanali.
The game’s story is inspired by the 2010 Marvel Comics limited series Black Panther/Captain America: Flags of Our Fathers and set in an occupied Paris during World War II, following a story of American super soldier Steve Rogers (Captain America) allying with Azzuri (Black Panther), the king of Wakanda, as they attempt to prevent the rise of the terrorist organization Hydra.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is the first project for Skydance Games, led by Amy Hennig, an American video game writer and director known for her work on the Uncharted series at Naughty Dog.
