Key points
- Battlefield 6 will have bots once more in Verified Experiences.
- The bots were removed last month because the developers wanted to promote healthier matchmaking.
- The reception of the announcement has been negative, based on player feedback.
On Nov. 7, 2025, EA announced that it is reintroducing bots to Battlefield 6’s Verified Experiences. EA removed bots from it a month ago, citing the quality of matches and the developer’s willingness to improve it.
However, in that same statement, the developers said they were “exploring potential solutions that address current issues that would allow us to reintroduce bots in the future while continuing to deliver a great player experience.”
With its reintroduction, EA put the following parameters:
- Each game mode now supports up to 12 bots.
- If bot backfill is enabled, matches require eight players to start, and there will be up to six bots on each team.
- If bot backfill is disabled, matches require 20 players to start.
- Bots grant reduced XP, while player XP remains at 100% (similar values to Multiplayer modes).
- If bots are enabled, player stats will not see gains (or losses) such as hours played, kill/death ratio and total revives.
- This is not currently working as intended and is actively being adjusted.
- Challenges remain completable.
Player feedback in the replies to the announcement has mostly been of frustration regarding the move, with players asking EA to revert the changes.
Battlefield 6 was released on Oct. 10, 2025, for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The game sold over 7 million copies, which was the biggest debut in the franchise’s history.
