The latest Peak update added the Roots biome, replacing the Tropics; the new biome will be in every run until Nov. 17. Aggrocrab also added various gameplay adjustments, including a relative overhaul of the cooking mechanics.
The developers stated that a lot more food will actually do something when cooked, thereby promoting more cooking. In addition, cooking usable but non-food items will no longer grant extra stamina, and cooked poisonous berries are now safe to eat, but players cannot cook the poison out of the mushrooms.
