Dozens of employees who were fired from Rockstar Games a week ago are now accused by the company of leaking its secrets.
According to Bloomberg’s report dated Nov. 5, 2025, the employees in question had been sharing company information with non-employees in a forum.
“Last week, we took action against a small number of individuals who were found to be distributing and discussing confidential information in a public forum, a violation of our company policies. This was in no way related to people’s right to join a union or engage in union activities,” said a Rockstar spokesperson to Bloomberg, challenging union-busting allegations from the Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB).
According to the statement from the Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB) dated Oct. 31, 2025, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games dismissed over 30 employees from its UK staff who were all part of a private trade union Discord channel that included only labor organizers as outsiders.
Well-known for security prioritization, Rockstar has implemented even stricter measures following a major 2022 leak (which involved an outside hacker) that exposed dozens of videos featuring unfinished footage from their upcoming game, Grand Theft Auto VI, which is slated for release on May 26, 2026. Notably.
