World of Warcraft senior game director stated that a console port was not actively in the works at Blizzard, clearly communicating in a podcast interview with YouTuber Unshacked Fury. He expressed knowing that the team has a lot of work to do. Still, they are focused primarily on the PC experience, delving into Blizzard’s overarching goal of having their games be easy to learn and nearly impossible to master.
“There’s no reason for us to hide anything about this. If we were actively working towards bringing World of Warcraft to consoles or a bunch of other platforms, we’d be saying like we’re actively working towards it,” the game director stated.

Blizzard also recently announced the Midnight beta test, which goes live on Nov. 11. Detailed on the official website, Blizzard will be inviting community veterans, press, and others to check out the upcoming expansion. During the beta, new systems, a complete leveling experience, zones, dungeons, delves, Housing, and new playable Haranir and Devourer Demon Hunter will be available.
The official release date for World of Warcraft: Midnight is not yet known, but it is currently scheduled for before June 30, 2026.
