Nintendo Switch 2 sales go past 10M units; software sales almost double

On Nov. 4, 2025, Nintendo revealed in its financial reports for the first half of the fiscal year 2026 that the Switch 2 has sold approximately 10.36 million units, while software for the console has sold 20.62 million units. The Nintendo Switch sold 1.89 million units, which is a 60% drop from the 4.72 million units sold in the previous year.
Within the same time period, Nintendo has earned 1.099 billion Japanese yen, a 110.1% year-over-year increase from 523 million yen. Due to this, Nintendo has also modified its financial forecast, raising net sales, operating profit, ordinary profit, profit attributable to owners of parent and profit per share forecasts.
The company has also modified its software sales, revealing that Mario Kart World has sold 9.57 million units and Donkey Kong Bananza has sold 3.49 million units. Over on the Switch side, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe still leads with 69.56 million units sold, followed by Animal Crossing: New Horizons with 48.62 million units.

 - Yoshi and the Mysterious Book – Spring 2026
 - Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream – Spring 2026
 - Pokémon Pokopia – 2026
 - Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – 2026
 - Rhythm Heaven Groove – 2026
 - Pokémon Champions – 2026
 
Nintendo also revealed that YoY, digital sales have decreased by 2.8%. The company said that the decline was “mainly due to the impact of exchange rates and a decrease in sales of download-only software.”
