In a brief X post published on Oct. 30, 2025, the developers of Peak announced that they would be adding a new biome on Nov. 5, 2025, called Roots.
The video shows the characters immersed in a jungle-like environment, complete with hanging vines, tall trees and even platforms that resemble stairs that people use to climb tree houses. The video also shows one of the players getting dragged away. It’s currently unknown whether this will be an actual hazard when the biome is finally released.
In August, the game added a new biome called Mesa, which introduced hazards such as tornadoes and scorpions.
Peak was released on June 17, 2025, for the PC via Steam. It currently has a “Very Positive” review score on Steam and boasts an all-time peak of 170,759 concurrent players.
At the time of writing, its daily players have never dipped below 10,000, yet the game continues to enjoy the success it saw during its release.
