On Oct. 28, 2025, Square Enix published guidelines regarding what can be shared online about Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, and the developers are asking players not to stream the game until Nov. 29, 2025 — a month after its release, Oct. 30.
The developers are asking players to refrain from “live streaming or posting videos/images of gameplay after the second credit sequence.” Dragon Quest games are story-driven, and Square Enix’s request not to have the game streamed is to avoid spoilers. To add to this, the developers are also asking those who will post content to mark it with spoiler warnings, especially those that lead to major plot developments.
The other guidelines include not allowing the players to upload materials on adult sites and making sure that players are not violating any copyright rules.
