Marcus Lehto, Halo co-creator and former lead at the now-closed Ridgeline Games, which worked on the Battlefield 6 campaign for just over two years, expressed disappointment that his team wasn’t properly credited in the game, claiming that Ridgeline laid the foundation for the title.

“These talented developers worked tirelessly for 1 to 2.5 years, building the foundation of the game, before I left voluntarily and the studio was subsequently shuttered. Despite their significant contributions, most who were laid off were relegated to a ‘Special Thanks’ section at the very end of the credits — and several were omitted entirely, including myself,” Lehto stated in a post on his LinkedIn account on Oct. 20, 2025, listing names and roles of his colleagues as he would have preferred them to appear in the credits of Battlefield 6.

Lehto joined EA in the wake of criticism over Battlefield 2042’s lack of a single-player narrative campaign and headed up Ridgeline Games as VP, GM and creative director, a division of EA founded to assist in Battlefield campaigns.
