Battlefield 6 XP farms removed with player progression improvements launched

EA announced that Battlefield 6’s XP farming on Portal servers will be patched out. Prior to this announcement, players were utilizing bots within the game mode to rapidly progress Mastery XP and challenge progress. This farming method resulted in a large portion of the Battlefield 6 Portal matches being created solely to inflate stats, thereby making finding actual non-farming Portal matches more difficult.
To help facilitate progression, which was the underlying issue, the developers are increasing XP gained from match completion by 10% and daily challenges by 40%. In addition, the XP needed to unlock a weapon’s first 20 attachment ranks was reduced. Assignments that previously required careers ranks 20, 23, and 26 to unlock have been adjusted to unlock at ranks 10, 15, and 20, respectively.
The update was implemented on Oct. 17. EA stated that they are aware of the frustrations regarding the challenges themselves and that they are actively working on reviewing them.
“It will take more time to develop, test, and implement these changes,” Battlefield Studios communicated via social media.
Despite the changes, the Battlefield 6 community is still in a slight uproar, criticizing the slow progression, which supposedly takes 3000+ hours to unlock all attachments, according to a user on the r/Battlefield 6 subreddit.
“Weapon progression is designed to be an eternal grind,” the user explains.
Battlefield 6 Rogue Ops post launch content launches on Oct. 28, debuting various new content. Blackwell Fields is the new map being added, accompanied with the new mode Strikepoint. The SOR-0300SC carbine, GGH-22 sidearm, Mini Scout sniper rifle, and rail cover and LPV0 attachment are the new attachments to join the game.
Battlefield 6 has sold over 7 million copies; the title is EA’s biggest launch in franchise history, according to a press release published on Oct. 16. Over 172 million matches were played online, and over 15 million hours were watched on streaming services. The game achieved the most concurrent players in Battlefield history, with the Steam iteration of the game having surpassed 700,000 concurrent players on the platform.
