Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will receive third-person mode and New Game+ in a free update on Dec. 5, 2025. The announcement of the upcoming features was presented by the title’s publisher, Ubisoft, via a special Third-person Update Trailer posted on YouTube on Oct. 20, 2025.
The new update will bring reworked animations, controls, audio, and camera, and allow players to switch from the original game’s first-person viewpoint to third-person in one click. Meanwhile, the New Game+ will let players rerun the story while keeping all gathered inventory and skills from the first walkthrough, along with a new skill tree and more powerful equipment, while challenging players with tougher enemies.
Developed by Massive Entertainment, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was released for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S on Dec. 7, 2023.
The main story of the game focuses on a Na’vi orphan who was abducted by the human military organization RDA and raised as a soldier. Players assume control of the protagonist as he escapes from these people and embarks on a journey to reconnect with his Na’vi heritage and unite local clans against the RDA’s exploitation of the land.
The update will drop to the game a few days before the launch of the title’s first expansion, From the Ashes, on Dec. 19, 2025.
