Silent Hill 2 Remake tops 2.5 million copies sold globally

On Oct. 17, 2025, Konami announced in a video presentation dedicated to Silent Hill f that Silent Hill 2 Remake has sold more than 2.5 million units globally. The presentation also said that the Silent Hill series has sold over 10 million units.
Silent Hill 2 Remake launched on Oct. 8, 2024, and sold its first million copies during its first week of release; however, it took a year for the game to reach 2 million copies sold.
The game was also nominated at a number of award shows, including The Game Awards, the Golden Joystick Awards and the New York Game Awards, where it won the “Best Remake” award.
Despite all its accomplishments, the game franchise is poised to attract more players to the fan base, having added it to PlayStation Plus’ Game Catalog this month. Players subscribed to the Extra and Premium tiers of the service will be able to play the game for free.
Silent Hill 2 Remake, as mentioned above, was released on Oct. 8, 2024, for the PC and PlayStation 5. Like the title implies, it is the remake of the classic survival horror game from Konami, Silent Hill 2, that was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2.
