Extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov surpassed 500,000 wishlists on Steam, as was announced on the game’s official X account on Oct. 15, 2025.
The news comes a month ahead of the game’s official launch out of its eight-year-long closed beta, slated for Nov. 15, 2025.
It is worth noting that the game’s developers warned that players who had purchased Escape from Tarkov on the official website won’t receive Steam keys and will need to purchase a new copy on Valve’s platform if they want to launch the game through it.
Purchasing Escape from Tarkov on Steam will require a Battlestate Games account.
Players will be able to link it with their existing Battlestate Games account. If the editions of the linked versions differ, the higher edition of the two will automatically be used when launching the game through Steam.
Featuring three different modes — online PMC raids, scavenger raids titled Scav and a temporary offline training mode without progression or loot gains — the game is set in the fictional Norvinsk region of northwestern Russia, in the midst of a war between two private military companies: United Security (USEC) and the Battle Encounter Assault Regiment (BEAR).
As of the time of writing, Escape from Tarkov, developed by Battlestate Games for Windows PC, has over 1.1 million monthly active users and around 127,000 daily players, according to ActivePlayer. Also, since the start of its closed beta on July 27, 2017, the game has reached the milestone of over 10 million registered players.
